V0.8.38

Roguelite Experience

A set of new features that collectively change how to play Seeker’s of Tokane.

  • Seeker’s Chest – the new name for your inventory, is now only accessible while in the village. It stores all of your Nefties, eggs, and consumables. Access it by clicking the Seeker’s Chest object to the left of Kitty’s Tavern or by clicking the “chest” icon in the HUD.

  • Seeker’s Compass – a multi-function tool to assist you during your adventures. Before venturing out into the Everlasting Lands or battling in PVP, you must now use the compass to create your Neftie Squad and equip the consumables you think you will need. Only the Nefties and consumables equipped in the compass will be accessible to you once you’ve entered the lands or a PVP battle. To access the compass, click the “compass” icon in the HUD while in the village and the “bag” icon while in the lands.

    • While in the lands, the compass can lead you to the vicinity of the Exit Portal – hold the right mouse button down until the gauge fills up, then follow the trail towards the Exit Portal

  • Neftie Health persistence – Nefties no longer heal between battles. Health levels will persist until you return to the village.

  • Consumables – a variety of potions – health, revive, and hype – are available to purchase from the merchant Akash. As you progress through the game additional items will appear for you to purchase. Find Akash to the right of the Land Portal, in the north east corner of the village.

  • Completing lands in succession – now, instead of completing lands one at a time, once you reach the Exit Portal you have the option to go into the next land. Doing this will increase the value of the rewards, the difficulty of the encounters, and unlock new worlds. It also increases the risk of a big loss – if all of your Nefties are knocked out (0 health), then ALL of the rewards you had earned up to that point are lost, and you are returned to the village empty-handed.

  • Land Portal – the new worlds you unlock will be accessible to you once you have returned to the village and paid the crystal fee to gain permanent access. The portal is now located in the north-east corner of the village.

  • Elite Nefties and Bosses – As you progress further into the Everlasting Lands, you increase the odds of encountering Elite Nefties and Neftie Bosses. Defeating a Boss will make a new world available in the village Land Portal.

  • Checkpoint system: If you quit the game while in lands, you will respawn in the same land upon game restart.

Prime Neftie Features:

  • Pets – if the PVE Squad leader is a Prime Neftie, it will follow you around as a pet, in Blanche.

  • Prime hatching goodies v0.1 – now every time you hatch a Prime Neftie, you will receive additional goodies in your Seeker’s Chest. They are: 500 crystals, two random consumables, and one random egg.

    • This feature is an early proof of concept of our intention and will be updated in the future. As such, it is not user-facing, it is not yet advertised in the Incubator, and you will not receive any notifications when the goodies appear in your Seeker’s Chest.

Additional Improvements:

  • In-game Incubator – now when you incubate your eggs, you will remain in Blanche

  • Emotes – new system with new social possibilities (/cry, /cheer, /laugh...)

  • Facial Expressions – Avatars now have facial expressions.
